Discover how the ‘More-with-less Method’ created by a man who speaks 15 languages, will enable you to speak in full sentences from day one - or we pay for the course!

Congrats! You made it to this page!

You’re one step ahead of 99% of people in the world who want to learn Russian.

Why?

On this page I’m going to share with you:

- How our More-with-less Method will enable you to become a Russian speaker WITHOUT having to memorize thousands of words and grammar rules.

- This method was invented by my co-founder Lucas Bighetti, a polyglot who speaks over 15 languages. So you won’t find this anywhere else!

- I will also show you how hundreds of people from all over the world have been using this method to form sentences in Russian from day one... And what they’re saying about this unique approach.

But there is one thing...

This method is not for everyone.

In fact, I only recommend you continue reading if;

- You’re a complete beginner and you want to quickly develop your Russian speaking skills

- You understand that learning any language requires effort and we can’t do the learning for you…

- You like the idea of learning a language by yourself, at your own pace

Still here?

Great!

Then let’s get started...

Studied some Russian but you can’t speak it?

You’re not the only one, really...

Millions of Russian learners from all over the world are struggling to:

- Learn hundreds, sometimes thousands of words that are often hard to remember.

- Use the grammar properly and speak with confidence.

- Stop translating in their heads and have flowing conversations in Russian without having to think.

We know, because we receive emails on a daily basis from Russian learners like you.

Then why is it that most language products claim that you can speak a language fluently in a matter of months, or sometimes even weeks?

Well, that’s what most people want to hear, and it probably sells very well!

So you purchase one of those programs and you go through the first few lessons.

In the first lesson, you learn some basic greetings.

In lesson two you learn the names of the colors, then a lesson about clothing, the names of several professions, furniture, etc.

Every time you complete a new lesson you get rewarded with points, a fancy animation or a new module is unlocked.

It gives you a great feeling of achievement!

You think ‘’I can do this, I’ve almost reached an intermediate level!’’

After a while, you feel like you’re ready for a real conversation with a native speaker.

But when the opportunity to impress a native speaker is finally there:

  • You realize that you’ve forgotten the words that you want to say, or

  • You find out that you never learned the words that you really need, or

  • You start translating in your head and you get stuck in the middle of a sentence.

As a result, your confidence in Russian seems to instantly evaporate.

Yeah, we know, learning a language can lead to a lot of uncomfortable and embarrassing situations.

Most people get discouraged and eventually give up!

We think that’s a pity!

Wouldn’t it be great if there was an approach that helped you speak in flowing sentences from the very first day?

I unexpectedly discovered such an approach in a place you wouldn’t expect.

In a place where nobody spoke English.

Get ready for my story...

The Girl That Forced Me to Learn Her Language FAST

In 2009 I got the opportunity to go on an exchange program in a small city in the south of China. The goal was to learn some Chinese in five months.

For some reason I’ve always been deeply interested in other countries and cultures. When I heard about the exchange program in China I was all in!

After a few weeks I got to know a nice local girl and she became my girlfriend....

Only one problem, she didn’t speak a word of English

So, I had to learn Chinese and I had to learn it fast.

At first, I wasn’t sure I had the confidence to learn Chinese quickly, if at all. But my girlfriend changed all that and forced me into the situation where I had to learn the language.

In the end, by the time I left China, my Chinese was pretty good.

I remember that night at 1 a.m. when I walked back from her place to my dormitory through drenching rain. After 1 year in an exchange programme, I had to say goodbye to her and I thought I’d never see her again.

At the time, it broke my heart, but later it started to change my perspective on things.

I’d learned to speak a new language in only five months, after being told when I was younger that I was terrible at languages. But I’d learned enough Chinese to find love.

So, for the first time in my life, I started believing that I could become successful at learning languages.

This changed my ability to learn foreign languages and eventually, my whole career and life.

And it was all because I picked up two basic principles that made it a lot easier for me to learn Chinese, and later also seven other languages including Russian.

It wasn’t just because I was living in another country.

And it wasn’t just because I fell in love with a native speaker, although that did help.

At the time I didn’t even know what those two principles were...

I only found out a few years later...

Meeting the Brazilian Polyglot who Speaks 15 Languages

After my ‘’language learning breakthrough’’ in China, I met Lucas on my trip to Brazil. He would later become the co-founder of LanguageBoost.

Lucas spoke over 15 languages and at least ten of them fluently. I’ve met most of the world's best polyglots (people who speak many languages), and Lucas was one of the best I’d ever met.

So I asked him what his secret was.

At first he didn’t really know how he was learning languages so quickly. He just liked the process and spent hours per day studying and talking to people in different languages over Skype.

I told him about my experience in China, and after many days of discussing language learning, we concluded:

If you want to learn to speak a language quickly:

1. It’s key to only focus on the most important words and grammar structures, in the beginning.

And…

2. The best way to learn to speak is by making your own sentences from day one!

Why?

I’ll show you in a minute.

I’ll also show you how other language learning experts and thought leaders in our industry use this method when it comes to learning new skills quickly.

Lucas and I decided to launch LanguageBoost and we created a new language system called the ‘More-with-less Method’.

Let me show you step-by-step how you can hold conversations in Russian from the very beginning with this method.

Do you have a bad memory?

No worries, it will also work for you even if you’re bad at grammar and memorizing words.

But WAIT!

Who are you Guys?

Who exactly are you guys and what do you know about learning languages?

Well, Lucas and I have dedicated the last ten years of our lives to learning foreign languages and we’ve tested all the major courses and methods.

Not only have we learned many foreign languages for fun, we’ve also lived in many different countries where we had to speak multiple languages on a daily basis.

We designed this course for people who want to speak a foreign language in the real world, not just to pass an exam.

This language learning journey has brought Jan to over 100 countries and I’ve learned over 10 languages.

Lucas speaks over 15 languages. You can see is speaking all these languages on our popular YouTube channel.

Over the years we’ve also interviewed many of the world's most accomplished language learners. We’ve learned what works and implemented it in our own methodology.

We've created over 21 language courses and we've taught people from all over the world.

We also regularly speak at language events all over the world. We don’t just give these talks in English. Below you can see Lucas giving a presentation in Russian, in various cities in Russia, and even in Kyrgyzstan.

Helping people from all over the world to learn foreign languages is what makes us feel alive.

The 3 Pillars of the
More-with-less Method

1. Mastering the most important words

The Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule) states that you get 80% of the results from 20% of the work. This principle works in language learning as well.

In fact, with language learning the ratio is more like 95-2.5, which means that native speakers only use 2.5% of the words, 95% of the time.

We call it the ''Magical 2.5%''

You see, languages contain hundreds of thousands of words, but only a fraction of them are used daily by native speakers, and you only need a fraction of those for your first conversations.

Many people know this and search the internet for so-called frequency lists. The problem with these frequency lists is they’re often generated from newspapers, books and other sources that don’t use the practical day-to-day language that you need as a beginner.

Our list doesn’t work like that. We’ve hand-picked the most important Russian words that you’ll need for your first conversations. We teach all words in short and simple sentences.

They’re super easy in the beginning but become gradually more tricky. That way the materials won’t overwhelm you and you’ll keep momentum in your learning.

If you focus on learning the most important words first, you know that every minute you spend learning is a minute of your time well invested.

2. Sentence Building

At school or in traditional language courses, you learn lots of words. Yet, most people can’t hold conversations in their target language after they finish their course.

Why?

Because to speak a language fluently you need these two things:

1. You need to know many words and how the grammar works.

2. The confidence and ability to make your own sentences.

Yes, it’s not so much about “how much you know”, but rather about “how well you can use what you’ve learned!”

Traditional courses mostly focus on teaching often irrelevant words and grammar. They don’t spend enough time on ‘sentence building’.

Studying alone is not enough; you need to activate what you learn inside your brain.

By directly using the words you learn, you aren’t just less likely to forget them; you also train your brain to produce sentences in your new language quickly.

3. Fluency Training

Becoming fluent in a new language takes a lot of effort and it isn’t easy as most programs claim.

The only way to become fluent is to create strong connections in your brain so that you don’t need to translate in your head anymore. Instead you can speak in a natural way.

This process usually takes years but a ‘spaced repetition’ system like Anki will help you speed up the process in just 10 to 20 minutes per day.

I’ve known Jan and Lucas for a few years and I’ve always found their language learning ideas and tips extremely useful. I was so impressed by Lucas’ story that I even mentioned him in my TED talk as a very inspiring polyglot. The talk has been watched by over 4.5 million people.

We’ve had dozens of hours of conversation about language learning, so I know that these guys know their stuff about language learning, especially when someone is just starting.

Highly recommended!

Lýdia Machová

TED speaker and Founder of Language Mentoring

I have tested most language applications, books and courses out there and I can honestly say that language boost uses one of the best methods. It gets you from A-B very quickly and cuts out a lot of the useless rubbish a traditional language school might teach you.

If you are a real stickler for detail and grammar etc. it could be a bit light, but if you are just looking to pick up and start using the language quickly, I can highly recommend these guys!

Jan and Lucas have more experience learning foreign languages than almost anyone on the planet.

If you want to learn to speak a new language and learn quickly, I recommend you pay attention to what these guys have to say!

Why Learning Experts Love this Approach so Much

We’ve used this methodology to reach high levels in a dozen languages ourselves, but even more importantly, we’ve also witnessed how well it works for complete beginners.

The world’s most famous learning experts can explain why this method works so well.

Let’s take a look at what they say...

An interview with Scott that I did a while ago for our podcast.

Scott Young, the author of the book ‘’Ultralearning’’ says that ‘’the easiest way to learn is simply do the thing you want to get good at.’’

That means that if you want to become fluent in Russian, you’ll simply need to speak a lot of Russian! He calls it ‘direct learning’. Don’t get lost in the theory, instead practice what you want to learn.

Now I know that you can’t just start speaking Russian if you don’t know any words. That’s why every time we introduce a new word in Jumpstart, we give you lots of exercises to make sentences on your own.

This is a great way to learn. You will immediately activate new words and store them in your long term memory. The best thing is that you won’t be overwhelmed with too many words and tricky grammar.

Scott’s approach is very similar to the approach that Benny Lewis from ‘Fluent in 3 Months’ uses…

Benny wrote an article for Tim Ferris titled: 12 Rules for Learning Foreign Languages in Record Time. His number one rule:

Learn the right words, the right way!

He said:

‘’As Tim (Ferris) pointed out in his own post on learning any language in 3 months, you can take advantage of the Pareto principle here, and realize that 20% of the effort you spend on acquiring new vocab could ultimately give you 80% comprehension in a language.”

Me visiting Benny in Valencia, he was kind enough to host me in his apartment  for a few days.

Also, popular YouTuber Arieh Smith, aka Xiaoma, uses a similar method on his crazy language learning missions. He usually spends 24 hours learning a new language and then goes off to a New York neighborhood where that language is spoken to have conversations with native speakers.

His secret?

He says;

''I usually create a list of words and simple sentences that I can immediately start using with people in the street. Think about simple phrases like:

  • Do you speak Korean?
  • I am learning Korean
  • I want to go to the market
  • How much is this?
  • It’s tasty!

These are things that I know I need to say if I want to have a basic conversation with random people in the street or in restaurants, so that’s what I focus on.

Then I ask a friend or a tutor to translate the phrases and even record the audio. I put them into a flashcard app called Anki and I use that app to learn the phrases by heart''

Do you see what all these learning experts have in common?

  • They all focus on learning the most important words first

  • They spend most of their time practicing, not studying new things

  • Many of them use flashcard apps like Anki to reinforce the things they’ve learned.

And this is exactly what the More-with-less Method is all about!

Learn more skill in less time!

So you might wonder why doesn’t everybody use this approach?

The thing is that quick learning methods like ours are often more challenging and intense than just reading a text in your target language.

Good news if you’re serious about learning Russian because More-with-less will see results quicker.

In fact, you will feel the progress after the very first lesson!

Look what our students say:

“I recommend this boostcamp to all my friends. It’s such a different way of learning a language compared to the way we learn languages at school. You get to speak the language right from the beginning.”

Jessie de Zwart
Student from the Netherlands

''I just took a look at the first lesson for the Boostcamp and it's fantastic. I was surprised how quickly it really drilled those first 20 words into my brain''

The Ideal Russian Course for Complete Beginners!

After more than a decade of trial and error and having learned more than 10 language ourselves, Lucas and I came to the conclusion that if we wanted a program that teaches you how to speak from the beginning, we …

- Should teach the minimum amount of words that you can use to make the maximum amount of combinations.

- Should focus on the most important vocabulary that you’ll need for your first conversations

No boring grammar rules, learn grammar naturally ‘’on the go’’

- The materials should come with native speaker audio and video learning tools

- The focus should be on the student; our priority is to let the student construct their own sentences!

- The program should be super user-friendly.

…and it should enable students to hold a 10-minute conversation in their new language by the end of the course.

It wasn’t easy, but after years of testing, experimenting and seeing our students getting results we finally launched the ultimate beginner’s course.

And we’ve called it:

Yes, Jumpstart Russian!

Our Jumpstart courses are unique language courses that help you to speak a new language right from the start, even if your vocabulary is limited.

In each 21-module Jumpstart course, you’ll learn the minimal amount of words and grammar structures that you need to make an impact in your target language.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to hold a 10-minute conversation with your Russian speaking friends.

This program works for all ages – from young students to 70+ year old retirees.

Even 55+ year old students were speaking a foreign language after the 21 modules!

See it for yourself!

It's only some days ago that I started using your method but it's the first time in a long long time, that I really feel motivated, enthusiastic and optimistic about studying and learning Russian.

I really want to thank you for giving me this motivation to study Russian again, this time not giving up until I reach a good conversational level.

Florian Araújo

I would say that this is probably the best way to start learning a foreign language. I know what I mean here because I have a degree in linguistics and education and I have been working with languages professionally for eighteen years.

This course gives you an unbelievable feeling of achievement and helps you to create a natural connection with the language.

Mila Khabirova

I have researched and tried at least a dozen different language learning tools, software and approaches.

This Jumpstart thing is the only approach that I found that had me speaking, conversing, and understanding what I said on day one!

What makes Jumpstart so Special?

Good question!

There are a lot of elements that make this program unique…

1. Jumpstart Russian is the only resource that makes use

of the More-with-less Method

With the More-with-less Method you’ll achieve the maximum amount of speech with the minimum number of words. In fact, we won't teach you more than 300 words in this course.

But how will you be able to speak Russian with only 300 words?

When we created this method we made sure that we handpicked only the most important words that you need for your daily conversations.

Because of the relevance of the words that we have picked and over 3000 drill exercises in this course, you will be able to make over 150,000 Russian sentences after finishing this course.

2.This course contains over 180 short, easy-to-follow video lessons with over 40 hours of video content!

Jumpstart Russian is, without a doubt, one of the most complete Russian courses for beginners on the market.

3. The first lessons are super easy but as the course continues, the lessons gradually become more involved and challenging.

This way you gather confidence and momentum but aren’t overwhelmed.

4. We focus 100% on your ability to speak.

Every time when we teach a new word we ask our students (and you) to translate simple sentences using the new word.

5. Learn with building blocks.

We break grammar down into easily digestible building blocks. So instead of teaching you boring grammar rules (just like when you were in school), we give a verb form and then demonstrate how to plug that verb form into a sentence pattern.

This allows you to learn grammar in a natural way without having to study (and be confused by) grammar rules.

6. Join the classroom!

With the recording of the actual lessons you’ll feel like you’re really in the classroom. This makes the video lessons more real, fun and seeing others make progress gives you extra motivation!

7. Learn at your own speed

Pause the videos whenever you want and play them as often as you want.

8. This course is proven to work!

You can literally witness our students in the recordings (and yourself) making fast progress!

9. Jumpstart Russian is easy to use.

Just login to our platform and start learning!

Will Jumpstart Russian work for me?

This program has been designed for:

  • Absolute beginners

  • People who tried to learn Russian in the past but can’t utter a proper sentence

  • Passionate language learners, travelers and people who live abroad

  • People who are ''not so young'' anymore.
Many of our best students are between 40 and 75 years old!

Hold Conversations Entirely in Russian!

Let’s be honest, in Jumpstart Russian you won’t be learning thousands of words. We’re also not going to force you to learn advanced grammar rules and verb conjugations.

Instead we’ll only teach the most important words, sentence structures and grammar that you need to hold fun conversations with Russian speakers.

And even more important…

You will be able to make your own sentences, and eventually have conversations in real Russian!

After you finish the course you will speak Russian at an elementary level (A2).

That means that you will be able to travel to Russian speaking countries and talk about yourself, your family, things you like to do and places you like to visit. You’ll be able to get around, hold everyday conversations, and speak in the past, present, and future tenses.

Now imagine how much your life would change if you could talk to 580 million Russian speakers from all over the world, in their own language!

How would they react?

How would this new skill enrich your life and change the way Russian speakers see you?

How Much does Jumpstart cost?

Alright, you want to know how much the course costs, fair enough!

Let me ask you, how much would it cost you to learn Russian the traditional way?

Here in Brussels I found several language schools that are offering Russian lessons for about 47 EUR ($55) per hour.

With traditional education it takes about 180 to 200 hours to reach an A2 level in Russian. That means that you’ll most likely end up paying thousands of dollars, even if you take ‘’cheaper’’ group lessons.

The big benefit of learning Russian with us is that not only do we use a highly effective, proven-to-work method. You can also study at your own pace because you’ll get lifetime access to all our materials.

And we don’t even charge a fraction of what language schools charge!

But what about other digital language courses?

There are indeed cheaper Russian courses on the market. Platforms like Duolingo do even offer courses entirely for free!

The real question is, can they promise similar results?

The More-with-less Method is unique because we’ve invented it ourselves. It’s a proven system and you won’t find anything similar in the market.

Lucas and I are fortunate enough to be able to reach people from all over the world thanks to the internet. For that reason, we’re able to offer Jumpstart in exchange for a very modest investment in yourself.

If you value a well-thought-out, quality language course that actually gets you results, I can promise you that Jumpstart will be worth it!

Rommel San Pedro

Learning new vocabulary in sentences is awesome. All the promises you make in your sales material is true in this respect. I also appreciate that you emphasize verbs much more than I’ve seen in other systems. That adds to the sense of usability. All this has increased my motivation because I can see progress where I previously struggled.

In a nutshell your program is the best I’ve used for studying Russian, trust me I’ve tried most everything.

Mike Whispers

Hi Jan, the new lessons in Jumpstart are excellent. Your method is by far the best system for learning a language for me.

The Jumpstart series is right on the money! Thank you for the method and for inspiring me to try learn a new language. I find it fun and rewarding. Cheers!

Darrell Wong

I don't know why anyone that is interested in language learning would not take advantage of this opportunity.

The price right, the process is right, and the customer service and support is exemplary!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Jumpstart available in Dutch?

Most of the people in our audience are English speakers and therefore all our courses are only available in English.

I’m not a complete beginner. Is this course still relevant for me?

Let’s be honest, we only recommend this course for beginners. If you can already hold conversations in Russian, this course is probably too easy for you.

What’s the duration of the course?

The course is structured over 21 modules. Each module consists of about 10 video lessons, the learning materials and native audio of the new words and phrases that you learn. The time it will take you to complete the course will depend on the time you have available, and the pace at which you like to study. If you decide to study two modules per week for example, it will take you 2-3 months to finish the course.

Can I study at my own pace?

Yes. The course is designed specifically to allow all students to study at their own individual pace. Learn as quickly or slowly as you want; we want you to learn – not run a marathon. Everything is downloadable for practice and future refresher sessions if needed. The materials never expire … and updates are always free.

What’s the difference between this course and the VocaBooster Russian?

In VocaBooster Russian we focus on teaching you the most important vocabulary. We don’t focus much on grammar and very little on building sentences.

Jumpstart is a complete program that is easy for everyone to follow. It doesn’t matter if you have previous language learning experience or not. In Jumpstart, we spend much more time on constructing sentences and conversation skills.

How is this course different from the many other Russian courses out there?

Jumpstart is unique. This is the only video course that teaches you Russian (or an other language) from scratch with building blocks. We break grammar down into easily digestible building blocks. So, instead of teaching you boring grammar rules, we give a verb form and then demonstrate how to plug that verb form into a sentence pattern.

Also, this course is proven to work for people from different ages and different backgrounds. That’s why we’ve included real students in the video lessons, not actors!

Will I still need a Russian teacher?

To become fluent in Russian (or any language) you need to practice speaking the language often. And practice is best achieved through real life and online experiences and/or with native speaking friends, family, or tutors. Jumpstart gives you all the tools, structures, materials, and motivation you need but you will still need to find opportunities to practice speaking Russian with a real person.

Can I get my money back if I don’t find Jumpstart useful?

Yes. If you don’t find this tool useful, just let us know within 30 days and we will give you a refund. No questions asked.
